Ascendance Idealease, based in Harrisburg, Pa., recently volunteered with the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank to sort through donated food for families in need. On Friday, December 1, 2023, volunteers from Ascendance Idealease assisted the Food Bank in gleaning and sorting through 10,000 lbs. of food for their sorting program.

The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank receives substantial donations of grocery products from local grocers, amounting to hundreds of thousands of pounds. The Ascendance Idealease group actively participated in sorting through these donations, organizing them into various categories. These items play a crucial role in supporting programs like their MilitaryShare program, which aims to provide nutritious, nourishing foods to veterans and their families. MilitaryShare distributions occur at on-site locations such as armories, VFW, and AMVET facilities across the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank’s expansive 27 county service area. With 28 distribution sites currently operational in central Pennsylvania, the program extends its reach to over 45,000 individuals. Furthermore, excess inventory that the team sorted through, including totes filled with glass products, sugar, beverages, and more, is directed to partner agencies of the Food Bank. This surplus is then distributed to help feed up to 300 families in need, making a meaningful impact in the community.

Ascendance Idealease is an active advocate of the Idealease CARES program. Idealease CARES is a community support initiative, formed by Idealease, Inc., North America’s premier full-service commercial truck leasing, rental and maintenance company. The program shines a light on the collective community service, charitable causes, and the contributions of Idealease locations across North America.

“Ascendance Idealease takes pride in championing and embodying the principles of the Idealease CARES program,” said Collin Dean, General Manager of Ascendance Idealease. “This initiative holds significant importance in reflecting Ascendance’s core values, dedicated to fostering stability within our local community. We feel a constant sense of honor in contributing to organizations like the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank.”
